Cambria Energy, LLC is looking for an independent or in-house geologist. The ideal match for this position will have a bachelor’s degree in geology and 3+ years experience in prospect generation, property valuation, geologic field studies, and acquisition appraisals.


Title: In house or Contract Geologist
Location: Oklahoma City (Preferably)
Education: Bachelor’s Geology Preferred
Description: Cambria Energy is looking for a geologist for the mid-continent region, specifically southern Oklahoma.
Duties: Extensively map project areas in southern Oklahoma which have very complex structural geology and develop/evaluate acquisition and investment opportunities.
Qualifications:
·         Bachelors in Geology Preferred
·         Petra, SMT, Geographix, ZMap+ or comparable software programs
·         Use software to interpret and create contour maps of subsurface structure.
·         Must have solid computer/mapping skills

Canaan Resources, LLC is looking for a dynamic person to join the firm as a Development Geologist. This person must have excellent communication, organizational, and technical skills.  Experience in the Arkoma Basin and in supporting a horizontal drilling program is a plus.

Canaan Resources, LLC is a privately owned company specializing in direct investments in domestic natural gas properties. We currently operate in the Arkoma Basin and have acquired interests in producing natural gas wells on behalf of our limited partnership, Canaan Natural Gas Fund IX. Our senior management has worked together for over 20 years and Canaan will continue its proven strategy, consistently employed since inception, of acquisition and exploitation of high quality natural gas properties. Our goal is to produce attractive returns for our investors. We are committed to a strict adherence to a disciplined approach to analysis of wells prior to acquisition, conservative low-risk development drilling to exploit the reserves, and strategic and timely harvesting to maximize returns.  

Job Responsibilities:

•Prepare geologic information to support a horizontal drilling program.
•Analyze & interpret geological & geophysical data to develop production opportunities.
•Participate in integrated reservoir management & surveillance projects.
Utilize GeoGraphix to interpret accurately subsurface structure by creating contour maps and cross sections.

Job Requirements:

•Strong analytical skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.
•Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.  
•B.S. in Geology and 5+ years of experience.
 •Experience with: Geographix.
•Other duties as assigned
