Geologist, Midland

Responsibilities:
 
· Provide the technical expertise for a variety of duties from prospect generation to  development – experience in New Mexico preferred
· Able to work independently and within an engineering team to generate prospects, regional plays, appraisal and offset locations, as well as supervision of daily geological activities associated with drilling various types of wells
· Make recommendations concerning the viability of projects
· Selection of drilling sites primarily on undeveloped areas using seismic, mapping, research, or any other appropriate geological tool
 
Qualifications:
 
· Minimum of 8 years industry experience – Permian Basin experience preferred
· Work experience within a team concept interfacing extensively with engineers
· Experience in identifying own projects to develop and pursue as well as supporting projects generated by the team
· Experience with Petra and Kingdom a plus

 The Company:
 
Company is a very financially stable, private company based in Fort Worth, Texas.  Their origin actually began in the 1930’s.  Today the company is privately held.  The company has 3 major divisions located in New Orleans, Louisiana; Midland, Texas; and Denver, Colorado.
 
Each division is comprised of engineers managing their geographical areas.  Each division is very independent keeping their engineering decisions as close to the wellhead as possible.  The geoscience staff and land staff are centralized in Fort Worth supporting staff in each of these divisions.  Also based in Fort Worth is a reservoir group providing the long-term technical support through modeling, pre- and post-well analyses, history matching, and other long-term development projects.  A gas marketing group with gas accounting, marketing, contract negotiation and administration is also based in Fort Worth as well.

Senior Geologist – Mississippi Lime Experience

 
We have an immediate need for a Senior Geologist for a long term consulting assignment in Houston. Our client is a large Oil and Gas Operator with a sizeable position in the Mississippi Lime play and they need to strengthen the exploration and development team working this area.

The ideal consultant will have a minimum of 15 years Oil and Gas industry experience with significant exposure to the Mississippi Lime Play. Experience dealing with the water issues related to production in this play would also be advantageous.

 Exploitation Manager – Permian
 
Independent Energy Company and a leader in the exploration and development of shale-based oil and natural gas resources in the U.S is looking for an Exploitation Manager. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for the technical and business efforts of the Geological Exploitation Strategies and Projects for the Permian Basin. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate the efforts of the operations geologists in choosing drilling locations, preparing to drill and evaluate vertical and horizontal wells, geosteering horizontal wells, and staying organized in a very active drilling program. Tulsa, Oklahoma location.

Duties will also include:
• Develop and exploit existing oil and gas assets throughout the Permian Basin, through reservoir management, optimized reservoir development, and recognition of upside opportunities.
• Help plan development budget and forecast production and reserves.
• Supervise staff of geoscientists and technicians, and work closely with reservoir engineers, drilling engineers, and completion engineers.
• Participate in business development activity including evaluation of acquisitions and divestitures.
• Report to VP of Exploration.

REQUIREMENTS:
• BS or MS in Geology.
• 20+ years experience in Oil and Gas Exploration and Production.
• Permian Basin experience required.
• Experience working with Geological and Geophysical software.
• Previous exploitation management experience, and previous unconventional oil or gas experience.
• Experience with Horizontal exploitation.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship.
