Operational Geologist
Location: Tulsa, OK

Responsibilities:

• Primary responsibility will be to perform the development geology necessary to support a horizontal rig program in the Texas Panhandle/Western Oklahoma area.
• Some time in the field will be required to help geo-steer the horizontal wells.
• Work with a multi-discipline team to design and execute field development plans
• Will be required to map potential field extensions to help guide leasing efforts

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Geology; minimum 5 years experience
• Prefer experience in Western OK and/or Texas Panhandle
• Prefer horizontal well experience
• Prefer experience with PETRA

Job Description: GEO - Geologist
Location: Oklahoma City, OK
% Travel: 5
 
Canaan Resources, LLC is looking for a dynamic person to join the firm as a Development Geologist. This person must have excellent communication, organizational, and technical skills.  Experience in the Arkoma Basin and in supporting a horizontal drilling program is a plus.
 
Canaan Resources, LLC is a privately owned company specializing in direct investments in domestic natural gas properties. We currently operate in the Arkoma Basin and have acquired interests in producing natural gas wells on behalf of our limited partnership, Canaan Natural Gas Fund IX. Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare geologic information to support a horizontal drilling program.
• Analyze & interpret geological & geophysical data to develop production opportunities.
• Participate in integrated reservoir management & surveillance projects.
• Utilize GeoGraphix to interpret accurately subsurface structure by creating contour maps and cross sections.
 
Job Requirements:
 
• Strong analytical skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Capability to work both independently and as part of a team. 
• B.S. in Geology and 5+ years of experience.
• Experience with: Geographix.
• Other duties as assigned
