Everyone talks about it...

ClimateIntro No, not the weather (well, not JUST the weather)...I`m talking climate and global warming.  Should Dubya get your praise or your rebuke for his stand on the Kyoto Agreement?  If you are a geologist, you should probably have a reasoned opinion on this subject.  Have you done your homework?  Lee Gerhard of the Kansas Geological Survey provides a great starting place with his article, "Moderating the Climate Debate."

Who are We?

Partners

We are the Education Committee of the Oklahoma City Geological Society who are a group of geologists that live and work in Oklahoma and are dedicated to improving the teaching of Earth Science in grades K through 12 in our Oklahoma Schools. The major thrusts of our activities are threefold: A program we call "Partners for Earth Science"; Geological Field Trips; and Workshops stressing geologic principals. There are many science disciplines that are used to understand earth science making the study of earth science an excellent introduction to science in general but a difficult subject to approach without a wide academic and practical scientific background. Let the OCGS membership assist you by participating in one or more of our educational programs.

Partners for Earth Science

Our "Partners For Earth Science" program pairs a professional geologist with individual earth science teachers. The goal of the program is to make your earth science teaching easier, more effective, and more fun by having a geoscientist drawn from the membership of the Oklahoma City Geological Society act as your earth science resource by responding however and whenever you wish including assisting in your classroom. These OCGS members have decades of professional geological experience here in Oklahoma as well as across the world.
