Organization
The purposes of our Society are (1) the advancement of the
Geological Sciences and the profession of Geology in General and (2) promotion
of high ethical standards of conduct among our members and within the profession
of Geology. We aim to establish standards of education, experience,
and professional conduct in the practice of Geology; to inform and protect
the public from unprofessional practices; and to monitor other activities
affecting the geological sciences, including state and federal activities.
